About Me

Hi, hello. My name is Molly, but you already knew that.

So here’s some information you didn’t know and are likely trying to learn.

First things first, I’m a curator of stories.

I grew up writing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, known nationally for the Flood of 2008 where the Cedar River crested 31 feet above flood level and later the Taco Bell Meth Lab.

I moved to Chicago in 2013 and completed courses towards a B.A. in Fiction Writing at Columbia College Chicago.

My love of stories extends far beyond fiction and I have performed with Loose Chicks and Tenx9 Chicago, telling live personal stories.

Most recently, I have begun successfully screenwriting. In 2019, I wrote my first short film script, Heirloom, which was produced and premiered at the Talus Films “12x12” festival where it won Fan Favorite.

In 2021, I was listed as one of the top femme screenwriters to work with in Chicago by Camera Ambassador. Since then, I have written twelve shorts and one feature length film. Seven of my scripts have been recognized in nineteen different competitions and festivals internationally with awards ranging from Semi-Finalist to Category Winner.

Heirloom

When I was approached by a friend to write a short film, I had never written a screenplay before. But once I did, I fell in love with it.

My first short film script, Heirloom, was produced and premiered at the Talus Films "12x12" Festival, in which they wrote, shot, and produced 12 films in 12 months.

Heirloom is an incredibly special project to me as the premise is based in my personal experiences and explores my own fears.
